Working safely and effectively in sexual health promotion

This 1-day training is called ‘Working safely and effectively in sexual health promotion – Considerations for policy development’. It takes participants through the process of developing sexual health promotion policy or guidelines for their organisation.

Sexual health promotion covers a range of topics related to sexuality wellbeing. Sexuality wellbeing is about a healthy understanding and expression of all aspects of a person as a sexual being.

By the end of the training participants will have increased awareness of:

what they need to consider to work safely and effectively
the reasons and benefits for policy and guidelines development
the proactive and reactive aspects of their work
relevant legislation in relation to sexual health promotion
the process required in developing policy and guidelines

The training is delivered by local health promotion and improvement officers.
